Bio

Kati Tamanaha came to the TJC soccer program in 2019 as Assistant Coach. Her main focus on the field is leading the technical sessions and off the field is the office administration along with leading the academic side of things for the players. She has been a part of 2 of the 5 National Championships that TJC has won (2019 and 2020-2021). During the 2023 season, Coach Tamanaha reached her 100th win as Head Coach Corey Rose's assistant.

She graduated from Fort Zumwalt South High School in 2002, where she earned All-Conference, All-Metro, and All-State awards. She is currently 3rd all-time in goals and assists. She held the record for 21 years before it was broken in 2023. 

She attended Western Kentucky for 2 seasons, where she was an attacking center mid for the Hilltoppers. In 2004, she transferred to the University of Central Arkansas. She earned 1st Team All-Region her senior year after scoring 9 goals and adding 5 assists for the Bears in one of their most successful seasons to date. 

Additional Coaching Experience:

She helped coach her first club team in 2005 while in college. In 2008, she was the Graduate Assistant Coach at Harding University under Head Coach. Greg Harris. While in Searcy, she was also the assistant coach at Searcy High School, where she helped them to a 2nd place finish at state. In 2009, she started with Arkansas Rush, where she was a youth coach, club administrator, and Director of Mighty Mites (U4 and below) and Academy (U9-U10). In 2012, she became the first woman Director of Coaching in the state of Arkansas when she took over at Westside Soccer Club. While she was there, the club won 2 President's Cup State Championships. In 2014, she moved to Kansas, where she coached at Sporting Blue Valley, the youth club affiliated with Sporting KC. There she was a youth coach and worked with their Skills night camps. While in Kansas, she was also heavily involved with US Youth Futsal, where she was in charge of their merchandise department. In 2016, she landed with FC Dallas East Texas, where she is still currently coaching club. In her time with FCD-ETX, she has coached numerous teams in various age groups. She was also the club administrator and club registrar for 5 years, club treasurer for 3 years, and has been a board member for 8 years. 

Coach Tamanaha currently holds a USSF C License, a USSF National Youth License, and a Futsal Level 3 diploma. She earned a Bachelor’s in History from Central Arkansas and a Master’s in Business Administration from Harding University. She is getting married in May '24 and currently resides in Tyler, Texas.
