LSU-Eunice upsets No. 4 Apaches

No. 17 LSU-Eunice rallied from an early deficit to score a 3-1 win over No. 4 Tyler Junior College on Tuesday in a non-conference soccer match at Pat Hartley Field.

"They deserved the win; they wanted it more than we did," TJC coach Steve Clements said. "Obviously, we have a lot of things to work on before we return to conference."

After scoring victories on Friday (3-0 over Johnson County, Kansas in Tyler) and on Saturday (6-0 over Broward, Florida), the Apaches took a 1-0 lead against the Bengals on Thaabit Baartman's free kick.

However, LSU-Eunice scored twice before halftime and then once in the second half.

The Bengals improve to 9-1, while the Apaches fall to 10-2.

TJC plays at Blinn on Friday and at Angelina on Saturday, in back-to-back Region XIV Conference matches.
