TJC falls to 12-9 overall and 3-4 in Region XIV. PC improves to 8-10 and 2-4.

Sickness and injuries have felled the Apache Ladies with Kamora Jackson (flu) and Alexandria Jefferson (knee) missing the game, TJC Coach Trenia Tillis Hoard said. Another five players were not 100 percent.

Lillian Jackson led Tyler with 13 points, followed by Kiana Bennett and Amari Welch with 10 points apiece.

Others scoring for TJC were Scejeonna Anderson (6), Shalayne Morgan (4), Fenishka Bertho (4), Grace Ezebilo (4), Naomi Wilson (3) and Tinu Fakunle (2).

Hitting 3-pointers for the Apache Ladies were Welch (3), Bennett (2) and Anderson (1).

Tre' Anah Coppock, a freshman from Troup, led the Fillies with 15 points, including two 3-pointers.

Others scoring for Panola were Awa Fane (12), Hannah Young (9), Nakaylyn Wells (7), Etaria Gibbons (6), Meilin Guo (4), Paige Taylor (2) and Destinee Moore (2).

TJC hit 8 of 14 at free throw line, while the Fillies were 5 of 11.

In other games on Wednesday: Angelina 92, Coastal Bend 68; Kilgore 74, Trinity Valley 70; Paris 68, Jacksonville 47; and Blinn 71, Western Gulf College 29.

The Apache Ladies return to play on Feb. 7 at Kilgore College. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Their next home game is 2 p.m. Feb. 10. Panola travels to Lufkin to play Angelina at 2 p.m. Saturday.
