Tyler Junior College scored a 92-60 victory over Coastal Bend College at Wagstaff Gymnasium in Tyler.

After two-straight losses, the Apache Ladies got back on the winning track before the home crowd.

TJC used a 33-point second quarter to swing the game into the Black & Gold's favor. 

Former Tyler High Lady Lions star Kamora Jackson was the catalyst in the period, hitting for 13 points, including two 3-pointers.

The outburst gave Tyler a 50-31 halftime lead.

Amari Welch, the former Canton High School standout and granddaughter of TJC legend and All-American Poo Welch, hit for 20 points to lead the Apache Ladies, along with Kiana Bennett. Welch also had five 3-pointers.

Others scoring for Tyler were Grace Ezebilo (10), Lillian Jackson (8), KeleChi Dike (7), Shalayne Morgan (6),  Fenishka Bertho (3) and Scejeonna Anderson (2).

Ezebilo had a double double with the freshman from Nigeria adding 16 rebounds. Dike had 14 boards and drew two charges. Welch had eight rebounds with Bennett adding seven and Lillian Jackson grabbing five.

Jaydee Zamora and Jordan Shephard led the Lady Cougars with 16 points each, followed by Eliza Rodriguez (13), Ja'Nyla Kennedy (7), Sydney DeDe (5) and Alexes Rocha (3).

TJC was 11 of 16 at the free throw line and 11 of 30 from 3-point (Welch, 5; Bennett, 3; Kamora Jackson, 3).

CBC was 11 of 19 at the free throw line and 7 of 25 from 3-point (Zamora, 3; Rodriguez, 1; Shephard, 1; DeDe, 1; Kennedy, 1).
