Tray Taylor honored by Dave Campbell's Texas Football
Dave Campbell's Texas Football released their Non-FBS team for 2023 and Tyler's Trea Taylor was among those honored. The sophomore wide receiver from Shreveport had 39 catches for 850 yards, had 9 touchdowns(4th in NJCAA),averaged 94 yards per game(2nd in NJCAA), and 21 yards per catch. His best game was in a big win at Georgia Military Institute in which he had 6 catches for 157 yards and 3 touchdowns. Taylor had 4 100+ yard games and scored more than one touchdown twice this season. He was a favorite target for the deep ball this year for the Apaches having receptions of 42, 44,45, 48,68,73 and 81 yards in separate games. He was also awarded the Southwest Junior College Football Conference Most Valuable Player this season.

The 2023 All-Texas Non-FBS team features 40 players from 24 schools, highlighted by three selections for Trinity, UTPB, UIW, ACU, and UMHB.
Selecting the members of the All-Texas Non-FBS team is always a challenge. Since the first Non-FBS team was released following the 2018 season, the goal was to highlight the best players in Texas across all three NCAA divisions, NAIA and NJCAA.
The team was expanded in 2021 to include a coach, offensive player, and defensive player of the year. Still, players deserving of recognition are left off this team each year. So, the team has been expanded once more to include a player of the year and the best player at each position. A player may be selected only once to allow the maximum number of players to receive recognition.
With that in mind, 40 players from 24 different schools are on this year's team, including at least one player from each level. However, the expanded number of members didn't make this team easier to select. For example, at least eight coaches deserved to be named Coach of the Year. Yet, there can only be one.
So, without further ado, here is the 2023 All-Texas Non-FBS team.
