#13 Apaches host Blinn for Homecoming Saturday

While there's not a total eclipse on Saturday in her namesake city of Tyler, TJC and Texas College hope to have a total eclipse of their opponents as the two host football games.
The Steers start things off with a 2 p.m. contest against No. 25 Louisiana Christian at Mewbourne Field on the campus of All Saints Episcopal School.
Before the Tyler Junior College game, the TJC Alumni Association is hosting a Tailgate & Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at the W.T. Brookshire Conference Center adjacent to Rose Stadium. It is from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
This annual pre-game gathering has been expanded to include fun festivities and safe viewing of the partial (80%) solar eclipse. Registration is required. This event is free to TJC Alumni Association Lifetime (Gold) members and $10/person for all others in the TJC Community. Register at https://www.tjc.edu/HOMECOMING.
Registered guests will receive a box lunch by Jack's Catering, beverages, solar eclipse glasses and other homecoming solar eclipse treats.
Also, there will be solar themed music by DJ (and Band Alumnus) Doc Deason; Special viewing devices and eclipse information by the TJC Earth, Space and Science Center; and a spectacular view from the three-acre Rose Park.
A partial solar eclipse is scheduled from 10:25 a.m. to 1:32 p.m. in Tyler. At the maximum, the moon will cover approximately 80% of the sun at 11:55 a.m.
Parking: Available at the Brookshire Conference Center parking lot. If you are attending the football game, you may want to park in the Rose Stadium Parking lot.
Shuttles: A TJC shuttle will be available for pick up at Rose Stadium (and along the route) and drop off on the west side of the Brookshire Conference Center at Registration Check-in. If you park at Brookshire Conference Center you can walk to the other side of the building or hail a golf cart.
Where to go: The event is on the Front Street side of the Brookshire Conference Center. Entrance to this outside event is on the west side of the Conference Center, off Fair Park Drive. Look for the sidewalk leading up to the yellow registration/check-in tent.
