Tennis teams fare well at ITA regional

Tyler Junior College men's and women's tennis dominated the ITA regional in Plano, Texas last weekend.  The Apaches were champions and runners up in all categories. It was all TJC players in the finals of each event. 

Men's Singles Final: Dan Persson (TJC) defeated Faiz Nasyam (TJC) 6-4 7-5

Women's Singles Final: Candy Wai (TJC) defeated Zoi Spyrou (TJC) 6-2 7-5

Men's Doubles Final: Dan Persson and Juan Carlos Garcia (TJC) defeated Samer Al Tori and Calvin Golmei (TJC) 6-4 7-5

Women's Doubles Final: Candy Wai and Zoi Spyrou (TJC) defeated Maike Tiemersma and Natalia Michta (TJC) 6-4 0-6 10-5

 

Persson, Garcia, Wai, and Spyrou each get to the go to Rome, Georgia for the ITA Cup coming up October 13-15.  The runners-up have a chance at a wild card.
