Wharton defeats Apaches in Region 14 match

The Tyler Junior College Apache Volleyball team fell to Wharton County Junior College 3-1 in a Region 14 matchup in Wharton, Texas Thursday night.  Wharton would sneak by the Apaches in the first two sets by the same 26-24 score.  Tyler would take the third set by a convincing 7 point margin, 25-18.  The home squad would again squeek by the visiting Apaches in extra play, 27-25.  Each of the three sets that the Pioneers would take could have gone to either squad.  The win moves Wharton to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in Region 14 play and the loss drops Tyler to 2-10 and 0-2 in conference action.  Next up for the Apaches are two matches at the Weatherford tourney on Saturday, versus Amarillo College at 10:00 am and against the host Weatherford College at 12:00 pm.
