The Tyler Junior College Volleyball team dropped their first home match of the season to the #17 Navarro Bulldogs before an excited crowd at Wagstaff Gym on Tuesday night.  The Apaches had played their first ten non-conference contests away from home in tournaments in New Mexico and Brenham, Texas.  Tuesday was the MEET THE APACHES event on Apache Pass, the street right in front of the gym that featured a street full of food trucks, the Apache Band, Belles, cheeleaders and all 12 of the TJC Athletic teams.  Many of the players from the other Apache teams spilled into Wag Gym to witness an exciting night of volleyball.  The Bulldogs would win a close first set, 25-22, but the Apaches would capture set two, with the raucous crowd loving every moment of the Apache come from behind victory 26-24, scoring the last 6 points of the set to even the match at 1 set a piece.  But the Bulldogs would prove their #17 national ranking was for real as they would win the last two sets 26-24, and 25-20.  The win moves Navarro to 5-4 and 1-0 in conference and the loss drops the Apaches to 2-9 overall and 0-1 in Region 14 play on the season.  Next up for Tyler is a Thursday matchup at Wharton County Junior College at 6:00 pm in Wharton, Texas.
