#3 Apaches get big win over #2 Eastern Florida

The #3 Tyler Junior College women's soccer team defeated #2 Eastern Florida State College 2-1 in Millbrook, Alabama on Thursday night.  The high level matchup took place on neutral ground as the latest NJCAA national rankings put the Titans at #2, just ahead of the #3 TJC Apaches.  Eastern Florida would strike first in minute 35 of the first half on a header off of a corner kick and would hold the lead at the intermission.  The Apaches would score twice in the second half to take the match, the decisive goal coming on a corner kick of their own.  The Titans pressed hard late in the match but Tyler's defense held on for win number six of the season.  

The non-conference win moves Tyler's record to 6-1 overall.  The Apaches rebounded well after their first lost of the year on Tuesday in a 1-0 match against Hill College.  The loss drops the Titans overall record to 2-1 on the season.  The Apaches will matchup with #7 Daytona State College in the early game Saturday at 10:00 am and Eastern Florida State College will play LSU-Eunice on Saturday afternoon beginning at 12:00 pm at the 17 Springs facility in Millbrook, Alabama.
