The #3 TJC Apache women's soccer team defeated Blinn College 3-1 in Brenham on Saturday. The Apaches would score first with a goal at 8:48 in the first half, by Miki Hayashi, a sophomore midfielder from Fujiedacity, Japan. But Blinn would tie the score just after the intermission with a goal of their own at the 49:00 mark by Marissa Aparicio. TJC would retake the lead quickly at 51:35 on goal by Sona Dabelstein, a freshman forward from Bremerhaven, Germany making it a 2-1 lead. Tyler would top off their scoring in the second half with Hayashi's second goal of the match at 68:45 for the 3-1 final.
Blinn drops to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in Region 14 play. The victory keeps the Apaches perfect on the season at 5-0 and 2-0 in conference play. Next up for Tyler is a matchup with Hill College on Tuesday at 7:00 pm at Pat Hartley Field on the campus of Tyler Junior Colllege.
