Apache Ladies blank Iowa Western

Itzayanna Sanchez-Garcia scored two goals to help power the No. 3 Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies to a 5-0 win over No. 6 Iowa Western on Sunday at Pat Hartley Soccer Complex.

Other goals were from Jullia Trabach, freshman from Vila Velha, Brazil; Lauren Loza, freshman from Bedford; and Shauni Reid, sophomore from Woodvale, Australia.

Iowa Western falls to 0-3. IWC lost to Navarro, 2-0, on Saturday in Tyler.

TJC (2-0) is scheduled to play at Jacksonville College at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The Apache Ladies return home at 4 p.m. Friday to face Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa.

The No. 1 and defending national champion TJC men's soccer team is scheduled to also play at Jacksonville on Tuesday. The contest has a 7 p.m. start.
