Apaches Earn NJCAA All-American Honors

The NJCAA recently announced its All-American honors, and several of our Apache soccer players were fortunate to receive this prestigious recognition.

From the women's team, Miki Hayashi and Gabrielle Thompson were both named Second Team All-Americans.

Forward Gabrielle Thompson had an outstanding season, finishing with 17 goals, 7 assists, and a total of 41 points. She also recorded an impressive 69.5% shots-on-goal percentage.

Midfielder Miki Hayashi also made a significant impact, scoring 14 goals and adding 4 assists, with a shots-on-goal percentage of 54.4%.

On the men's side, the Apaches secured First Team All-American honors for Carlo Romberg and Joe Pollard, while Ljubo Popovic earned a Second Team selection.

Despite an early tournament loss, forward Carlo Romberg finished the season with 7 goals and 11 assists, contributing significantly to the team's offense.

Goalkeeper Joe Pollard wrapped up the season with 30 saves, 5 goals allowed, 9 wins, and an impressive 85.7% save percentage.

Defender Ljubo Popovic earned his honor through his aggressive play and relentless work ethic on the field. While defensive statistics are often less emphasized, Popovic's tenacity and leadership were evident in every match.

Overall, these Apaches have demonstrated remarkable dedication both on and off the field, honing their skills and earning the recognition of being named All-Americans.
