Tyler, Texas- The Apaches are bringing the Gulf South/Region XIV trophy back to Tyler after a dominant 2-0 shutout victory over Coastal Bend. The Apaches left it all on the field, securing the win with a solid performance that showcased their fast-paced, competitive style of play.

With the sun shining down, the Apaches took to Pat Hartley Field for the highly anticipated matchup against the Cougars. The game got off to a quick start, with Tyler immediately establishing control. From the opening whistle, the Apaches asserted their dominance, pushing the tempo and creating early scoring opportunities.

Tyler maintained possession throughout the first half, with several dangerous corner kick chances. In the 20th minute, Oscar Bech sent a perfectly placed corner kick into the box, where Yart Van Lieshout was ready. Van Lieshout's quick header found the back of the net, giving the Apaches a 1-0 lead.

The Apaches continued to press forward, never faltering in their offensive pursuit. Meanwhile, the defense held firm, thwarting any attempts from the Cougars to find the back of the net. Key defenders such as Ljubo Popovic, Joakim Brandgaard, Lasse Junker, and goalkeeper Alfred Mikkelsen were instrumental in keeping Coastal Bend at bay. The backline made crucial clearances that helped fuel the Apache attack.

Mikkelsen was called into action several times, making four key saves in the first half to preserve the 1-0 lead as the teams went into the break.

The second half was a battle of heart and determination. The Apaches showed resilience and grit, staying composed even as Coastal Bend had more possession. Despite the increased pressure from the Cougars, Tyler's defense held strong, while the attackers continued to create opportunities. Even the players on the bench added to the team's energy, cheering their teammates on and contributing to the winning atmosphere.

In the 65th minute, the Apaches doubled their lead when Oscar Bech once again delivered a dangerous corner kick. Van Lieshout was in the right place at the right time, heading the ball into the net for his second goal of the game, and giving Tyler a commanding 2-0 advantage.

From there, the Apaches controlled possession, continuing to frustrate the Cougars and shutting down any further attempts. The final whistle blew with Tyler securing the 2-0 win, clinching the Gulf South District and Region XIV Championship and earning a spot in the National Tournament in Wichita, Kansas.

The National Finals will take place from Sunday, November 17th through Saturday, November 23rd in Wichita, Kansas, where the Apaches will look to continue their championship run.
