Apaches Hold Off Coastal Bend with Strong Performances from Uwayo Jr., Hill, and Gil

Tyler, TX – The Apaches secured a thrilling 88-82 victory over conference opponent Coastal Bend, thanks to standout performances from Chris Uwayo Jr., Josiah Hill, and reserve Luis Gil.

The Apaches dominated in the first half, outscoring the Cougars 47-35. While Coastal Bend mounted a strong comeback in the second half, scoring 47 points to the Apaches' 41, it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.

Uwayo Jr. led the charge with a season-high 27 points, adding 2 assists, 2 steals, and 5 rebounds. He is currently averaging 14 points per game and remains a vital contributor to the Apaches' success.

Josiah Hill also had a strong outing, finishing with 18 points and leading the team in rebounds with 8. His performance on both ends of the floor made him a key factor in the win.

Off the bench, Luis Gil was a valuable asset, contributing 12 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 5 rebounds. Although he has yet to start a game this season, Gil has consistently impressed with his efforts off the bench, averaging 8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
