TJC Apaches drop Region 14 Runner up Final to San Jacinto College Ravens

TJC Apaches fell 10-4 to San Jacinto College Ravens on Wednesday despite out-hitting them eight to seven. Berlyn Grossman, Jolie Bazan, Kaetlyn Mendez, Jordyn De Los Santos, Daniela Gutierrez, Sydney Farmer, Kaliyah Matthews, and Trinity Hawkins each collected one hit for TJC Apaches.

TJC Apaches got on the board in the second inning after Grossman singled, scoring two runs.

San Jacinto College Ravens scored one run in the bottom of the second on a solo home run to center field by Vivien Thames on a full count.

San Jacinto College Ravens flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on two hits to take a 6-2 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Ari Wright that drove in three.

Izzy Farmer hit a grand slam to left field in the bottom of the sixth for the San Jacinto College Ravens.

Makenzie Bohannon pitched three innings in relief for TJC Apaches. The righty surrendered two hits and four runs (two earned) while, striking out one and walking three. Kearston Gooch led things off in the circle for TJC Apaches. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and four runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking three. Kris Nash opened the game for San Jacinto College Ravens. They surrendered six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out three and walking three.

Grossman, the number nine hitter for TJC Apaches, led the way with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-3 on the day. Bazan led TJC Apaches with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up four walks for the game.

Farmer led San Jacinto College Ravens with four runs batted in. They went 1-for-3 on the day. Maddy Carr, Thames, Peyton Watson, Farmer, Wright, Chloe Foster, and Angie Morales each collected one hit for San Jacinto College Ravens. San Jacinto College Ravens had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Illie Melendez and Morales led the team with two bases on balls each. San Jacinto College Ravens turned three double plays in the game.
