TJC Apaches Defeat Trinity Valley Community College In High-Scoring Affair

There were runs aplenty on Tuesday, as TJC Apaches beat Trinity Valley Community College 12-10. TJC Apaches collected 20 hits, while Trinity Valley Community College had 13.

Jordyn De Los Santos collected three hits in four at bats in the win. De Los Santos hit a solo home run to center field in the seventh inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.

Trinity Valley Community College got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after a steal of home scored one run, J Burnham singled, scoring one run, D Menchaca singled, scoring one run, and K Castaneda homered to center field, scoring three runs.

TJC Apaches flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring six runs on seven hits to take a 10-9 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Kaetlyn Mendez that drove in two.

A Wittram singled, which helped Trinity Valley Community College tie the game at 10 in the bottom of the sixth.

TJC Apaches took the lead, 12-10, in the top of the seventh thanks to home runs by De Los Santos, and Kaliyah Matthews.

Sierra Ouellette started in the circle for TJC Apaches. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and six runs over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking two. M Marrujo started the game for Trinity Valley Community College. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and three runs over two and one-third innings, striking out none and walking one. Kearston Gooch and Makenzie Bohannon each appeared in relief for TJC Apaches.

TJC Apaches tallied 20 hits in the game. Jolie Bazan and De Los Santos were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for TJC Apaches. Berlyn Grossman, Mendez, Jules Cuarenta, and Matthews each drove in two runs for TJC Apaches. Alinna Cruz and Jenna Rosson each collected multiple hits for TJC Apaches. TJC Apaches turned one double play in the game.

Trinity Valley Community College accumulated 13 hits in the game. Castaneda led Trinity Valley Community College with five runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The left fielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Wittram led Trinity Valley Community College with three hits in five at bats. A Fields collected two hits for Trinity Valley Community College in four at bats. Trinity Valley Community College had patience at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. K Wiedenhaupt and M Debose led the team with three bases on balls each. Debose stole two bases. Trinity Valley Community College stole three bases in the game. Trinity Valley Community College turned two double plays in the game. Trinity Valley Community College were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Wiedenhaupt had the most chances in the field with nine.
