The TJC Apache Ladies are tied for second after Monday's third day of the NJCAA Division I Women's National Tennis Tournament being held at the Joann Medlock Murphy Tennis Center in Tyler.

Cowley (Kansas) leads the tournament with 36 points. TJC, the 2021 and 2022 champions, and defending champion Hillsborough (Florida) are tied for second with 35 points. St. Petersburg (Florida) is fourth with 32 points, followed by Eastern Florida State in fifth with 30 points.

The tourney continues at 8 a.m. Tuesday with semifinals. Championship matches are scheduled for Wednesday.

Rounding out the top 10 are: 6, Seward (Kansas), 25; 7, Jones (Mississippi), 23; 8, Barton (Kansas), 21; 9, Meridian (Mississippi), 17; and 10, Wallace State (Alabama), 16.

Jacksonville College is tied for 16th with 10 points. There are 30 teams competing.

FLIGHT 1

TJC's Natalia Michta, the third seed, advanced to semifinals with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over No. 6 Elena Martinez Prado of Eastern Florida State.

Michta, a sophomore from Krakow, Poland, will play No. 2 seed Catherine Goldman of Hillsborough at 8 a.m. Tuesday in the semifinals.

Goldman won her quarterfinals match over Jacksonville College's Camilla Angioni, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Yerkezhan Arystanbekova, the No. 1 seed from Cowley, will play No. 5 seed Luciana Braga of Barton in the other semifinal.

Arystanbekova won her quarterfinal match over No. 8 seed Randy Rakotoarilala of Meridian (Mississippi), 6-0, 6-0. Arystanbekova has not dropped game in two matches.

Braga defeated No. 4 Isabela Mercante of St. Petersburg, 6-3, 7-6 (1).

FLIGHT 2

TJC's Candy Wai is also the No. 3 seed. The freshman from Hong Kong defeated Polya Nikolova of Seward County in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-2.

Wai will face No. 2 seed Paul Cabrer of Hillsborough in the semifinals at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Cabrer defeated No. 7 Hoziane Kitambala of Weatherford (Texas), 6-3, 6-0.

Arina Babenko, of Cowley, is the No. 1 seed. She will play No. 4 Rima Yoshida of St. Petersburg in the semifinals.

Babenko won over Victoria Conde Vendrell of Abraham Baldwin (Georgia), 6-1, 6-2. Yoshida defeated No. 5 Emma Sanchez of Eastern Florida State, 6-7 (3), 6-0, 6-1.

FLIGHT 3

TJC is also the No. 3 seed in the third flight — Zoi Spyrou, a sophomore from Athens, Greece. She fell to No. 6 seed Ana Isabela Serrano of Seward, 6-1, 6-7 (6), 6-4.

Serrano will face No. 2 Rocio Martinez of Hillsborough.

Martinez defeated No. 7 Sanja Djurdjevic, of Weatherford, 3-2 (retired).

Serena Pereyra of Cowley is the No. 1 seed and will face St. Petersburg's Alessia Ciampi, the No. 4 seed, in the semifinals.

Pereyra won over No. 8 Daniela Tovar of Jones, 6-0, 6-0. Ciampi defeated No. 5 Lucia Lucas of Eastern Florida State, 6-1, 5-7, 6-1.

FLIGHT 4

Tyler's Amelia Devlin, a freshman from Brighton, England, won over No. 6 Maria Moskaltsova of St. Petersburg, 7-5, 6-2.

In the semifinals, she will face No. 2 seed Akari Tomoyose of Cowley. Tomoyose won over No. 7 Carmen Lyons of Barton, 6-2, 6-2.

Top seed Yoana Dudova is scheduled to meet No. 4 Maria Gento of Eastern Florida State in the semifinals.

Dudova advanced with a 6-0, 6-3 win over No. 8 Molly Bennett of Jones. Gento downed No. 5 Alejandra Ramirez of Seward, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (3).

FLIGHT 5

Apache Lady Beyza Yaniklar, a sophomore from Ankara, Turkey, is the third seed.

Yaniklar scored a 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (4) win over No. 6 seed Camila Corrales of Seward. She is scheduled to play Non. 2 seed Zuzanna Wikowska of Cowley in the semfinals. Wikowska won over Lena Spears of Coastal Alabama, 6-1, 6-0.

Hillsborough's Sanne Schoormans is the top seed. Her semifinal opponent is No. 5 Ai Katsua of St. Petersburg.

In quarterfinals, Schoormans won over Natalia Vegara of Wallace State, 6-1, 6-1. Katsua downed No. 4 Ana Vasilis of Barton, 6-2, 6-3.

FLIGHT 6

Tyler's Stephanie Gopar, the No. 3 seed, is a sophomore from Puebla, Mexico. She advanced to the semifinals with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 victory over Maggie Savell, of Jones.

Gopar will face Cowley's Mariana Jimenez, the No. 2 seed, in the semifinals. Jimenez won over Lindsey Johnson of Sauk Valley (Illinois), 6-0, 6-0.

Adeola Greatorex of Hillsborough is the No. 1 seed, scoring a 6-0, 6-3 win over Ana Alice Tosetto of Barton. Greatorex will face No. 4 Kyoka Ueno of St. Petersburg, who defeated No. 5 Thais Mitimeier of Eastern Florida State, 6-3, 6-3.

FLIGHT 1 DOUBLES

TJC's team of Michta and Wai are the third seeds. They defeated Seward's No. 6 seeds Nikolova and Emma Petton, 6-2, 6-1.

Michta and Wai will face No. 7 seeds Lucas and Sanchez of Eastern Florida State, who upset No. 2 seeds Cabrer and Martinez of Hillsborough, 7-6 (5), 5-7, 6-4, in the semifinals at 11 a.m. Tuesday,

St. Petersburg's Isabela Mercante and Rima Yoshia are the top seeds. The will face No. 4 seeds Arystanbekova and Arina Babenko of Cowley in the semifinals.

Mercante and Yoshia won over No. 8 Bennett and Yoshida of Jones, 6-4, 6-0, while Arystanbekova and Babenko won over Vendrell and Kitti Nemeth of Abraham Baldwin, 6-2, 6-1.

FLIGHT 2 DOUBLES

Devlin and Spyrou, the No. 3 seeds from TJC, won over No. 6 seeds Guadalupe Tocci and Daniela Tovar of Jones, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, in the quarterfinals.

Devlin and Spyrou will face No. 2 seeds Roselida Asumwa and Tomoyose of Cowley at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the semifinals.

Asumwa and Tomoyose won their quarters match over No. 7 Sanja Djurdjevic and Tsitsi Claire Mahere of Weatherford.

Hillsborough's Dudova and Schoormans are the No. 1 seeds and won over No. 8 seeds Alejandra Ramirez and Serrano of Seward, 6-1, 6-2. Dudova and Schoormans will face No. 5 seeds Gento and Mitimeier of Eastern Florida State.

Gento-Mitimeier won over No. 4 Ciampi and Moskaltsova of St. Petersburg, 4-6, 7-5, 7-5

FLIGHT 3 DOUBLES

TJC's Copar and Yaniklar are the fifth seeds. They defeated No. 4 seeds St. Petersburg's Carey and Kyoka Ueno, 6-1, 6-3. They will face No. 1 seeds Jimenez and Pereyra at 11 a.m. in the semifinals.

Jimenez and Pereya won over Italia Jones and Anne Van Binsbergen of Wallace State, 6-0, 6-0.

Eastern Florida State's Sara Ladino and Elena Martinez Prado are the second seeds. They defeated Adyson Parks and Ann-Clark Van of Copiah-Lincoln (Mississippi), 6-0, 6-1.

Ladino and Prado will face No. 3 seeds Goldman and Greatorex of Hillsborough in the semifinals.

Goldman and Greatorex won over Otoha Mogi and Lara Torres of Seward, 6-0, 6-3.
