Jake is a Strength and Conditioning Coach with Christus Human Performance tasked with fulfilling the role of Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Tyler Junior College. Previously, he worked in a very similar role with Mercy Hospitals in Edmond, OK as the first Strength and Conditioning Coach at Oklahoma Christian University for three years. Altogether, he has over 15 years of experience in fitness and sports performance.
As an athlete he played football and threw the shot put and discus at Bishop Gorman High School here in Tyler. While at Bishop Gorman, he won two state championships in the discus and one in the shot put while setting a TAPPS 4A state record in the shot put. When he went to Texas A&M University, he joined the powerlifting team and won a Collegiate National Championship as an individual in 2009.
